I began tutoring privately,as well as,for my school's learning center during the early 1990's. I have continued tutoring privately on and off for the past twenty years. I was a substitute teacher in California and Michigan during the 2000's. I also had my own high school level classroom in California for two school years. I was hired on an "Emergency Credential" because I had my BS but no teaching credential. I was laid off due to budget cuts in June of 2003. I also taught "at-risk" elementary age children during the summer for the Glendora Unifed School District in Glendora, CA. I tutored privately for three years from 2005-2008 in south Los Angeles County and north Orange County, CA. I can provide recommendations from these clients if you are interested. Kind and patient tutor for math, science & computing.

Patient, relaxed, friendly. Able to translate concepts into different scenarios in order to help the student grasp the concept.
Although not degreed in math, science or computers, they were my favorite subjects. More importantly, I am gifted in communicating concepts into terms my students understand and grasp. Repetition doesn't equate to learning, it's a component, it's a way to practice, but it is not how the mind grasps the concept. I really enjoy teaching at the college level or high school level to students. I make a real effort to help them better understand math and physics. These are my favorite subjects to teach so it is an enjoyable experience.
I was a tutor at Lawrence Tech. University as a member of the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. We provided tutoring help to fellow students at LTU. I was also a tutor at Macomb Community College (Center Campus) during the years 1997 and 1998. I was a math and physics tutor in the Center Campus learning center. The tutoring was mainly for community college students and occasionally high school students attending Macomb. My passion is in watching others to succeed, and I am willing to change my own methods to make that happen. Thus, my tutoring style depends almost entirely on the student as I have found that the most common reason a tutor is needed is that the student's learning style does not match with the teacher's teaching style.
