This role of 20 years has drawn from and strengthened my writing and oral skills. I have four kids ages 8mo, 5, 7, 14. We home school our 14 year old. I am also very involved in our 7 year old's schoolwork and homework.
I consider myself a 'people-person'. I coached youth sports for 10 years and enjoy working with kids. I am a relaxed, creative and centered teacher. Kids want to learn; in sports, academics and in life in general. They also want to have fun and be excited about it. I believe I make this possible. While pursuing my Engineering degree at Roger Williams University, I noticed that there were not too many students from low income families attending college. That is why I joined Bridge to Success Program on January 2001. BTS was a program, sponsored by Roger Williams University at the time, which focused in assisting and encouraging students from low income families as well as minorities. I served as a mentor for five years in the program. I helped a number of students go into college and helped them improved their grades in math and science. Thorough my dedication and commitment, I was awarded the mentor of the year award in 2004. It has been by far one of the most honorable acknowledgments I have received.
