I'm more of a hands on and visual teacher. I prefer to show than to read because many ideas can come from one sentence. I learn more by drawing out or actually seeing what my teacher is trying to convey. I am a 17 year old female who has so much talent to share with the people around me. I'm apart of a community service club, I play a variety of instruments, and from my experiences I've gained a lot of wisdom. I may not be certified with a piece of paper to show, but who said that in order to spread knowledge you had to have graduated and attended college? I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically learn, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as I can to aid in their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles. Every person learns differently, so I cater my teaching style to each individual learner. I started tutoring in my teens helping young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders develop English and Math skills as well as speech therapy and public speaking. Studied AP Art in high school, then earned BA in Art & Art History at Washington College. I have practiced multiple techniques in the fields of 2D & 3D work and am versed in a variety of media, such as oil, acrylic, charcoal, graphite, colored pencil, copic marker, mixed media, & found object. Sculptural experiments were used in my collaborations with theatre (set designer for David Hirson's "La Bete" & Val Dunn's "The Beauteous Majesty of Denmark."
