Prior to becoming an HSE Instructor, I tutored youth in a juvenile detention center. Currently, work for Dutchess Community College teaching HSE. My comments on tutoring Homework Help : I am NYS certified in Literacy (grades 5-12) and English (grades 7-12), although I have several years of experience with children as young as Kindergarten.

Over 13 years of working with students that were not scholars initially. After learning skills to improve their educational/learning experience, they became more scholarly, and enjoyed learning. This is key. They just need to change their perspective, and learn how to make "learning" enjoyable, like it was in kindergarden.
My teaching style is interactive, many of my former students would characterize it as "coaching". I always empower the student to find their way and to have them become "pros" in the learning process.
