A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in Statistics and a Certificate in Computing which is one step down from a minor. The statistics degree program had a heavy emphasis in mathematics, so a lot of my course work contained math classes. I have always been in advanced math classes and have been tutoring friends, family, and colleagues since High School. I will be starting at the University of Kentucky in August 2012, preparing for a Masters in Statistics, and available for tutoring the end of August/early September 2012.

I have been involved with youth for a long time as scoutmaster and as coach in recreational soccer. I enjoy working with children, especially if they are willing to learn and improve their skills and knowledge. I assess the student's grasp on the subject and determine where assistance is needed. Using various means I then help the student to get the knowledge needed to achieve academic success.

I was in the Teacher Apprenticeship program from 2003-2004 at my high school, where I taught and tutored two classes of 8th grade students for my mentor teacher. In college, I proofread many papers for friends and did extensive legal research and writing, which continuously improved my writing ability. I love teaching and I like to teach using examples. I like to present the material in a variety of ways with the knowledge that some students are visual learners and some benefit more from verbal examples.
