I not only believe that all students can learn, but that all students learn in various methods. My preferred teaching method is a combination of Constructivism (hands-on, inquiry-based learning) and Behaviorism (rewards and consequences); however, I strive to internally motivate my students, and I find that making work relevant and meaningful has the greatest effect on learning. All interactions with students should be positive (even consequences, not to be confused with "happy" or "non-confrontational"), understandable, and challenging for the student. Having a degree in Philosophy & Religion has many advantages in teaching. I have found to better understand a subject it is best to go and study many different resources for that subject, a macro-view. However the complicated subject is, a person who knows that subject will be able to present it in a simple concise manner. With this approach I am able to study and present a variety of subjects in a concise but exciting manner. The full grasps of studying P&R encompasses many sub fields of study : i.e. history, psychology, sociology, pretty much all the liberal arts. I believe that every child has a different manner of obtaining and learning information and it is the instructor's duty to identify each student's learning style and to teach accordingly.
