I graduated National-Louis University with a 3.7 GPA, and am also in the Kappa Delta Pi honors society for teaching. I have had many years of experience in the classroom, and with many different programs. I also have tutored previously for Sylvan tutoring. I am a Golden Apple Scholar, which is a prestigious award for teaching scholars that I won my senior year of high school. My experience has mostly been with younger students but recently I have tutored some high school students, as well.

I do not have a specific teaching style. Everyone is different, so one particular type of teaching style may not be as effective as another. In order to be effective, I think it is important to recognize the students strengths and weaknesses before embarking on a certain learning path.
I have a Bachelor's degree in History and an Associate's in Process Technology. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society. I possess excellent math skills and took statistics in college. I enjoy helping others and feel I am a good fit for this position.

As a college graduate, I have a passion for education and want to do all I can to see the youth of America excel. I am returning to school in pursuit of a 2nd Baccalaureate Degree in Elementary Education. I believe there is a need for the youth to prosper and education is key. I have a very unique way of teaching. My key to success works on a system of discipline and rewards. I find creative ways to make the most mundane tasks fun to accomplish. I think the number on rule in teaching strategy should be finding a way to make the process enjoyable. I believe most kids that do poorly in school have an incredibly hard time putting their hearts into tutoring. In my professional experience, it is almost like pouring salt on the wound when they don't do well in school and then have to suffer through more torture after school.

A Little Bit About Me...

I truly enjoy helping children reach their full potential. I believe that children who don't understand a subject just haven't had it explained to them in their way of learning and I believe I can find their way. I use patience, understanding, and humor to ease their minds but still am able to convey a sense of high expectation of them. Then, I explain concepts to them in a variety of ways until they can comprehend the subject manner. This includes using diagrams, creating a real-life situations where the concept is applied, drawing analogies that to which they can relate, or developing a game out of the lesson.
