Learn Japanese the Fun way!

Flexible.Student oriented with games, role play, dialogue, reading and speaking.
I have taught Japanese to business professionals that had little or no background in any foreign language. I can also state that they not only enjoyed the classes but also became confident and able to commmunicate in everyday conversations whether about business or personal life. Some of these people worked for large companies and others were students, or had some other reason or motivation, usually some interest or hobby that is popular in Japan.

My comments on tutoring Reading : I have a MA in English and I have taught college level composition (English 101 and 102). I currently teach high school Advanced English.

I guide the student to his or her understanding of the material. I do not feed information. I ask that the student come to their own conclusions.
I have a BA in English and Creative Writing. I received a MA in English Literature in 2005. I began my teaching career at Calhoun teaching English Composition 101 and 102. I have since been teaching high school (for 8 years) and currently am teaching honors 10 and AP Senior Lit. and Comp. at a local high school. English is my life! ha! I am extremely well read and very well versed. I know what it takes to score well on standardized tests and how to write "A" papers.

Years later I am currently in college to obtain my Bachelors degree in Elementary Studies. I've taken classes in all fields. My specialty is English! Phonics and help for dyslexic students

Hands-on, creative, active, using senses to keep children involved, especially those with ADHD. Trained in the Orton-Gillingham method to use explicit, sequential, systematic, and comprehensive phonics, especially for children or adults with dyslexia.
While homeschooling my boys, I invented new ways to teach them to read. These methods turned out to be helpful to many students. I've taught children how to read for about 5 years. I wrote a series of books to give teachers methods to teach phonics in creative ways, published through Creative Teaching Press. I've published mountains of curriculum. Formerly, I was the editor for the weekly education section for the "Denver Post." Now I am especially interested in helping children who have reading problems, particularly those who have or may have dyslexia.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is varied, depending on the learning style of the student. In class with mixed learners I use an eclectic approach. I use topics that the students are interested in.
I have more than 10 years teaching experience. During this time I have taught at universities, public and private schools. The subject taught most often was English language and all its components i.e. reading, writing etc. I have also had four (4) English language workbooks published by Pearson-Longman, one of which has been adopted in some private schools. As principal of Hampton International School I developed curriculum including the creative writing syllabus. As I have taught in many places, all over the world, I have no doubt that I will be able to support you as I am able to create my own materials that will support learning or use material that is provided. A Little Bit About Me...

I have most of my experience working with English language learners. Over the past year I have worked with English language learners that came from varied backgrounds such as, university aged Korean students, adult Russian speakers, adult Ukrainian speakers, and adult, middle, and elementary aged Spanish speakers. I really enjoy speaking other languages, which is why I majored in Linguistics and French. I received my TESOL certification in Querétaro Mexico this summer where I also studied Spanish and became rather proficient. As a linguist I understand language at a very primary level and can explain complex concepts using simple but not “watered down” language.
I think all people are learners whether they are in a classroom or not. As a teacher I like to use hands on interactive methods that put the student at the center of the learning. I am patient and fun while still main ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with all children. Being a special educator, I focus my teaching style towards the needs of the student. I am available to help your child find academic success. I am patient, easy going, and considerate. My goal is to provide the best education possible. I believe in multicultural education which is the acceptance of all students from diverse backgrounds given equal status and accommodations to build on their learning modality. Some students are auditory learners, some learn better visually like myself, some are kinesthetic or tactile learners who need more hands on activities. I believe all children can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate surroundings and learning experiences.
As a Summa Cum Laude graduate, I was very much driven to achieve a high level of excellence in education. I have earned a BS in Business Administration, and a ... read more

The best way to describe my teaching style is flexible. I don't limit myself to one style because I've never taught one type of child. Students are diverse and as a teacher my style of teaching must also be diverse. I believe in modeling and hands-on learning experiences. Students need to see new concepts worked through correctly. They should then show understanding of material through such processes as reteaching and through real world application whenever possible.
My experience in education is vast. I have earned a BA in elementary education. I have worked for eight years as a teacher in the education field. I also have a MAED in Early Childhood. I have also taught a Kindergarten class in church school for a year as well as serving as church school superintendent.
