My teaching style is unique to each student's indivdual needs. I take time to recognize my students learning style and provide the need materials or teaching style based their needs. I prefer tutoring to working in a classroom because I can give each student the specialized one-on-one time they need to help not only keep them on track with their school's requirements, but also introduce them to better study habits that could help them excel in the classroom when they do return to school.
During my years attending UMass Dartmouth, I recieved my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Business Administration. But I also gained alot of experience working with children. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching and working with children has been a love of mine for quite some time now. I feel all student's have the ability to learn but at a pace and level that is comfortable to them. My teaching style reflects my experience working with developmentally delayed students such as those on the Autism Spectrum. I provide a technique which is based on visual learning because I feel when material is drawn out or color coded, children will better grasp it and hold on to it longer. Children love pictures, stories, and colors and what better way to learn then having a little fun too.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 2005 I went on to work as a Special Education aid at the middle school level. I was responsible for a ten year old girl with Asperger's Syndrome, which required me to monitor her throughout the day as well as modify each lesson given in each subject. ... read more
