A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching in a hands on style in which the student not only has an algorithm of how to solve a specific problem, but has a thorough understanding of the concepts behind the algorithm. I enjoy having analogies or hands-on activities to demonstrate the concepts. I believe that many times people understand the basic concepts from physics in their daily life, but are frightened by equations. Using analogies or hands-on examples initially reinforces their knowledge and increases their confidence which decreases the fear of equations. Besides reduces fear, it improves their ability to share complex concepts with others in simpler terms.

My scientific research experience is extensive as I have conducted 2 years of research in the field of neuroendocrinology. I received the James D. Anthony Award at the conclusion of my senior year for "outstanding undergraduate researcher." Two weeks after graduation, I became employed by the Medical College of Wisconsin conducting research on Juvenile Type I Diabetes. Over these past 4 years, I have tutored in all of the major concentrations of biology. I also have extensive tutoring experience in Organic Chemistry and basic mathematics.
