Violin: Suzuki method Reading: Rollins method
I have been involved in various aspects of teaching and tutoring for the past 14 years. I have tutored students one-on-one for reading, writing, and math, and have taught private music lessons for voice (since 2005), violin (since 2005), and piano (since 2004). I also taught fourth grade in an elementary school. I have taught children to read before kindergarten (one fluent by age 2-3, one fluent by age 3-4).

More About This Tutor...

I have worked with college students in the past, working with comprehensive learning and mathematics. I learned that each student understands in their own personal way; some learn by seeing something concrete and for others it is working through the steps in the problem that helps them understand. I have also had the experience of teaching a freshman seminar class where the focus was finding the students strong point or drive and having them research their major or likes to find what job fields might fit them well.
I love teaching all ages, but have experience working with college freshman. I believe that these students are at an age where they need to realize their dreams and need help to gain confidence within themselves. My strong point is within Math, but also comprehension.
