Anyone who selects my services should note my array of interests which are numerous, considering I do not limit myself to one subject. I am a two year history major with a life long interest in history. I am also an avid writer with various blogs, articles, and a few books either written or edited. Lastly, my interest in art is also life long as is my love of science, social studies and various other topics.
I am the kind of person who is direct with my teaching. I do not sit around, I am there offering my services to help those who request my services. I teach them what the teachers do not or will not teach. I also help my clients understand the materials given to them and even help them find anything relating to their course of study which will help them in their assignments.

My teaching experience began in high school, when I would review and edit my classmates essays. On several occasions, I also went through essays line by line. In addition, I taught swim lessons to preschool aged children, and helped coach crew to high school aged students. Throughout college, I continued to aid my peers with their essays, and often participated in workshops outside of class. As a writer, I have extensively studied methods of teaching to English Language Learners, and native speakers alike. I have also conducted research in rhetoric studies and language acquisition. In short, I love English written and spoken, and I have a passion for teaching.
Everyone's teaching style is an accumulation of the teachers they have met. My favorite teachers were tough, they pushed me to do my best, and encouraged me to draft, edit, and to have high expectations for myself ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

The most important element of achieving success in school is self confidence. The way I help build that in children is by being extremely positive, supportive, and full of praise. I observe their behavior carefully to make sure they truly understand what they are being taught. When something is challenging to a child, I try different methods until I know it “clicked”. Another very important part of tutoring is communicating with the students’ guardians about their behavior or any stressors. When I know what external factors are affecting a child, I can be better prepared for our session.
Throughout college I was a tutor with a Learning Center. I worked with children in grades K-12. At this center, we helped build reading and math skills individually and in groups. I was also a private tutor for a high school student. Together we improved her study skills and organization. I assis ... read more

I have a passion for teaching and as such opened a tutoring service that I ran for four years. I hold a Bachelors of General Studies from Valdosta State University and will graduate with my Master of Business Administration in May 2010. I excel at tutoring in English, sociology, psychology, mathematics, science, literature, and social studies.

I was a tutor of Elementary School age children for one year, before joining the military. I am a mother of two boys, one being in the 2nd grade and am experienced in elementary level schoolwork and reading. I am extremely organized and efficient and love to help kids learn!
I love children and watching their eyes light up when understanding a certain subject brings joy to my heart. Patience is one of my strong points and I try to let the child reach thier goals in learning as independently as possible by encouraging them to work toward and answer to a question methodically and using a "figure it out" type style. On the other hand, I stay by my students side offering a shoulder to lean on, and support when struggling.

A Little Bit About Me...

I like to encourage people to pursue their potential. I hate busy-work, and try to give assignments that work on multiple levels; therefore, even if the student may not immediately see success in a trouble area, the student can be encouraged by their success in the stronger areas. I believe in tying subjects together through interdisciplinary studies. I use a method revolving around questioning and guidance, which challenges the student to be responsive, and verbally rationalize why they have come to a certain solution. This not only helps the student be engaged and active in the learning process, but also allows me to analyze the student’s thought processes.
During my time in high school, I started going to math tutoring to work on my homework. There was one fantastic teacher, and many students. When I would finish my homework, I would help others. Later, in college, I passed mat ... read more

I achieved an A.A.S. in Paralegal Studies and a BA in Pre Law. It was due to my most excellent parochial elementary and secondary education, that I was able to achieve the academic success I experienced returning to college as an adult student. I appreciate being able to help individuals understand why they need to know things and the impact that knowledge has upon our lives. As a P.T.A. president my motto was “ The more you know the more you grow and the more you learn the more you can earn!”
I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge. I truly enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. As a Literacy Volunteer and Substitute Teacher I was able to do that. I have a need to know approach learning. I’m rather no nonsense, but kind and patient. My goal is to help youth understand why and how they learn and help them use their knowledge the their daily lives so it help to develop the ... read more

I, Chad Hanson started out teaching private piano lessons after I grauated from college. I have nine years of experience in the line of work. I also have one year experience as a teacher's assitant, and one year as a teacher's position. I would like to continue my experience in the field of tutoring. I received 30 hours of social studies which is state required for middle school and high school teacher's certificate.
