A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that learning is ongoing throughout life, and that we all differ in our learning styles. I like to present a topic so that it is fun, usually with tactile work using math manipulatives, or flash cards, props, and games that teach conceptual thinking skills, and methods of learning using visuals, as well as auditory cues.
I have been educating people since 1987. I began in music education, which I taught successfully for 9 years, and also taught piano lessons. I then worked in special education for 1 year as an educational technician, where I tutored math, reading, and students with severe disabilities. Before attending college I worked at an after-school program in Boston that served k-5 students. This program focused heavily on homework completion and educational activities. During college I tutored fellow students through a TRIO program and through the althetic department in numerous courses in psychology and French, mainly statistics.

Being a recent graduate of a university I am able to relate to students and understand the academic setting. I enjoy teaching and am motivated to help students achieve results in the form of grades and understanding. As a recent graduate of a high ranking tech school with my BS in Business Administration and Materials Engineering I am very familiar with the academic setting and learning styles of various students.
