Prior to this I worked for a small CPA firm and performed auditing at hospitals, credit unions and not for profits. Prepared financial statements and performed audits. My teaching style for accounting is to encourage the student to visualize the "real world" transaction and relate it to accounting. Once this is done the accounting becomes a part of the transaction.
I am a CPA and have forty years experience in a business environment. I believe it is easier for a student to learn when the topic being studied is of interest to that student. Thus, it is important to relate each topic to those things that the student most easily relates to.
Though teaching is not my profession, I have taught as guest lecturer in college level investment classes, as well as tutored one-on-one basic English reading to those unable to for LVA in the 90s. As a Syracuse University graduate, I studied at the Maxwell School and the Whitman School of management. Maxwell is recognized worldwide for its expertise in public policy and economics. I have taken 3 courses in statistics, 1 in calculus and 1 econometric course which is statistics and calculus combined. Also, because I was enrolled in 2 separate programs I have taken 15 credits of natural science and 12 credits of english.
