I am easy to get along with, and like to help people learn and understand what is being taught. I have been teaching for over twenty years, primarily Middle School Language Arts. I have also taught Head Start, fourth grade, third through eighth grade science, and kindergarten through eighth grade music. I earned my Master’s degree in Classroom Education with an emphasis in MS Language Arts. Desiring to help as many students as possible, I continued taking classes toward a Reading Specialist’s degree. I was unable to complete the last class, a practicum course, because we moved out of state. I was a science major in undergrad, so can also teach elementary science and math up to and including algebra. I love working with students and seeing them succeed.

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching is a wonderful experience! My teaching style is laid-back, I'd say. I like having conversations in order to determine how someone learns. I think people learn best when discussing the material and really think it out before they start creating something. Guiding a student down the path of their own learning style is important because they will need those skills in the future when they go off to college or start a career on their own. I will provide students with the tools they need to succeed today and in the future!
I attended the University of North Dakota for 4 years and in that time received a BA in Anthropology which has provided me the experience and knowledge of helping people in holistic ways.
