Learning Can be Fun!

I like to allow the student to read the material once and clarity any areas that need more explanation. Then I will allow them to answer questions from the material read and help them where needed to choose the correct answer and understand the reason for the answers. I like to reward a certain level of correct answers with points that can be redeemed for interesting small prizes. I also consider myself very patient and interested in the student having a strong foundation for future learning.
I have tutored children in group and individual piano lessons. I have tutored them in math and social studies. I have worked part time as an adjunct instructor since the '70s, including 22 years with the Orlando Program of Florida Southern College, and 11 years with Valencia Community College. The later provided me with dozens of short courses in education. I also completed and retired from a civilian career with the US Army and Navy, starting as an intern, and reaching Senior Executive levels. I first go over what my students have been doing to learn and study the material.
