With younger students, I tend to be much more directive so that we accomplish intended learning. With middle and high school students, I ask "Why" and "How do you know" quite often so that they learn to provide evidence for their thinking. 15 years experience in a broad variety of subjects!

I have a way of perceiving the difficulty the student has, and am able to explain the material in a simple way that makes it easy for students to grasp. I have a good rapport with my student and have had several that have told me that I am the best teacher they have ever had(which didn't hurt my ego!!) My comments on tutoring World History : I have a full curriculum available and can easily adjust that to what is needed from grades 7 to 12, or work with the material the student has available. I teach this subject currently to my own child who is home-schooled.

I lived most of my life in Germany and went to school there. I finished school with an Abitur (13 years of education) After that I started university however I met my husband and we started a family instead and I moved to Florida. Here I have been home-schooling my child and taken care of all of her educational needs. Due to my experience with home school I have researched most topics I teach to the absolute max, created lesson plans tailored to my daughter's skill and needs. I have a vast repository of curriculum and information available and will always adjust every lesson to the student's needs.
I like to mix between book learning, reading and if appropriate games and fun activities to break up the learning into interesting segments. But this very much depends on the student.
