A Little Bit About Me...

My first teaching experience came from tutoring my own daughter who has a learning disability.This experience has taught me to see first hand the difficulties children can have learning new concepts. Happily my daughter graduated from Keiser University with honors. I also teach a High School Geometry and Algebra Two class. Students and parents have both expressed that my warm nature and straight forward explanations have made learning difficult concepts much easier.
I love working with children who need a little extra support. The proud look of accomplishment children who struggle have when they succeed is very rewarding. For a student to really understand a math they need to learn the concept not just the formula. Many times this means taking the abstract and making them as concrete as possible. Every student can learn with some modifications and a little extra work.
