A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate in the world of technology, I believe education never ends. Things change constantly therefore we must continue to educate ourselves. In addition, I have volunteered with high school juniors and seniors to help them through courses such as math, science, computers, and English in their preparation for college. While in college, I also tutored classmates in statistics, algebra, and technology courses. Beyond that, I have learned valuable lessons about teaching others in the various management positions that I have held throughout my career.
Throughout my experience tutoring students, I have learned that everyone has a unique learning style. No single rule applies to teaching someone. I spend time figuring out how a student learns and then adjust my style to their needs. After tutoring students for the past two years, I have learned that many kids have the ability to ex ... read more

The best method I have found for relating mathematical and scientific concepts to students has been with a majority of examples. While explaining theory is necessary for a student to gain the basics of a concept it is only through working problems and exercises that a student truly understands the material. When teaching I would usually explain a section of material as best I could, then work through multiple examples that illustrate the material. This is then supplemented with exercises for the students to work through on their own.
For the last 8 years I have been involved at some level in educating college students in general, analytical, and physical chemistry at the Florida State University. I have taught recitations and labs as well as having one-on-one time with students to help them with their school work. I have strong backgrounds in math, physics, and chemistry. Tho ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have numerous styles to teaching all depending on what works best for each individual. I can walk students through material, or present it in a simulation/ real world format. I can also create a quiz based learning environment where you learn by answering questions. These are just a few ways I can teach subjects, each student is unique and therefore should be taught based on his or her preferences and I am always more than willing to adapt to whichever way a student feels comfortable. I also enjoy working with those who are not taking advanced sciences. I believe fostering a solid foundation in grade school students is essential and I have experience working with kids at young as 8.
For the past 6 years I have had the opportunity to be a tutor for both local area high schools as well as a tutor at the University of Central Florida. I just recently finished earning my degree in Mo ... read more
