Social Studies and Creative Writing (English)

I like to challenge people to think outside of the box. Although I know it is important to know how to take tests and write papers appropriately, I also know that showing skills that go above and beyond, is what makes a student stand out. I will challenge your mind but in a way that will help to see the bigger picture out of the details, and will also help to shape you into a well-rounded, thoughtful individual.
I am currently a Sociology student at Augsburg College. I am also pursuing a minor in Psychology. This year will be my last, so I will graduate in 2014. Also, I have taken several creative writing courses at the Loft Literary center, as well as at my College. I received a 4.0 in my courses. Also, in high school, I was always a level above in all English and composition classes.

Since graduating in 1999 from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis with a Masters in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration, I have worked extensively in Accounting Management and administration. I am very knowledgeable in the full-cycle accounting functions necessary to hold a job as an Accounting Manager, Staff Accountant, Accountant, and Bookkeeper. I have learned many Accounting Software packages and can produce and analyze financial statements. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been very successful at adapting my teaching style to fit the age and subject that I am teaching. I am easily able to gain students respect and attention, which has also made me a very useful substitute.
After I received my degree in Elementary Education, I was a substitute teacher in IA for one year. I then worked, taught and advised at a small private college in Iowa. I have also owned and operated a daycare in my home for over three years. Currently have have spent the past two years as a substitute teacher for the Buffalo, MN school district.
