As an AB English graduate, I have earned one Bachelor degree major in English and 30 units in Master in Teaching major in Special Education. I have had trainings in Projects for Asia and I was able to teach Koreans for two years teaching them reading, writing, spelling, correct pronunciation and English grammar. In helping with mathematics, I interact with the student. I try to help the student find the answers. I give hints towards the direction needed to go to solve the problem. If helping with reading, I have the student read to me. If the student is uncomfortable, I read a paragraph and then have the student read the next paragraph. I help the student pronounce words. I have been a pastoral minister for 25 years, have taught refugees English as a Second Language, have taught community college courses as an adjunct instructor, have taught innumerable courses within the congregations I have served, including an after school tutoring program for young children.
