I love teaching all children and I am very passionate about science. Teachers must become aware of student’s prior knowledge, as well as how to tap into that knowledge and build on it. Students learn in different ways, and therefore instruction should include a mixture of different activities. I believe that all students are capable of learning and have something to contribute. Teachers must strive to make education as enjoyable and beneficial as possible for all students. I believe that most students will learn enthusiastically if they are taught enthusiastically.
During my years at the University of New Haven, I earned a BS in Biology and a MS in secondary education. I have two younger sisters myself, and I am currently coaching the eight year old's softball team. From this experience, I have learned to have patience and creativity when it comes to teaching. I break things down so they become fun and informative.
While at Virginia Tech, I dedicated much of my time to volunteering. Here I fell in love with serving others.
