A Little Bit About Me...

It is my belief that most students that seek out the extra help of a tutor have a much greater capacity to learn than they realize. It is upon that belief that all of my tutoring is centered around. My long term goal for most students is to show them how to be self-learners so that at some point they tell me to stop coming because they don't need a tutor anymore. This is done primarily by weaving study skills and tips into the lessons. This helps the students be more efficient with their studying. I also spend a lot of time de-mystifying the subject material. This makes the material easier to understand, which in turn improves the student's self-confidence, which in turn makes the next set of material easier for the student to learn. I was an administrator for the remainder of my career, serving at the high school level, middle schoollevel, elementary level, and central office level. My last four years were as a system-wide language arts and reading curriculum supervisor in which I worked with students, parents, teachers and other administrators.
