I believe that all children have the capability to learn if someone is willing to be patient and work with them. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that all children learn differently and at different levels and as a teacher, you need to recongize that and adapt your lessons to your students so they can achieve. For social studies, most student think that class is all about taking notes and reading from the book but I put a twist on all of my lessons. I do a lot of group projects, I have the students do presentations for each other on the material and also reanacts of big events to help the students understand what really happened with that specific event and how it impacted history.
As a recent graduate from Westminster College, I have earned a BA in History and my PA teaching certificate for 7-12 in Social Studies. Every class is different, so your approach has to match that class. So, how you teach in one class is nothing as you would teach in another. I try to get the students involved. I try to get them to see the whole picture.
I have been teaching for over 20 years. During those teaching years, I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge in the sciences by attending various fellowships and workshops during the summers.
