Elementary Education and ESL

In 2001, I received my certification in Elementary Education from CCSU. I then substitute taught for the town of West Hartford for 2 years while I got married and had my son. He had a lot of health problems so the decision was made for me to stay home with him. When it came to Kindergarten he still had many health issues so we thought it was best to keep him home and I began to Homeschool him. Homeschooling has worked well for him and his younger sisters so I have continued even though his health is far better. He is now entering 6th grade. It is my belief that most students that seek out the extra help of a tutor have a much greater capacity to learn than they realize. It is upon that belief that all of my tutoring is centered around. My long term goal for most students is to show them how to be self-learners so that at some point they tell me to stop coming because they don't need a tutor anymore.
