Biology is one of my top subjects! I hold a Ph.D. in biomedical science - focused on molecular virology.

I took a variety of Biology classes and Labs at WPI mostly focused on Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics. I recently finished my PH.D. where I studied control of viral gene expression. This work encompassed a variety of biological disciplines including virology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and molecular genetics, all of which I am quite experienced in. I also have experience teaching in a seminar format as well as in small groups. As a senior graduate student I was responsible for leading discussions prior to invited speaker seminars.
I believe that stimulating conversation and allowing people to arrive at answers on their own and through experience is the best way to form lasting connections.

I am passionate about making sure my students not only excel in the courses they take, but are prepared for a world in which the biosciences (especially the molecular biology of the genome & DNA!)will form the basis of medicine, the pharmaceutical industry, and major technological breakthroughs in environmental science. I would want each student in my classroom to feel wanted and feel a sense of their identity present even when they leave the classroom. Each student should be given attention. To understand what they feel and how they react to the material being presented to them is very important to me. I would encourage students to learn and let their views be heard. Classroom discussions and debates can be great tools when you want students to become active and to voice out opinions.
