I believe that a good teacher has a great deal of "real life" experience in the field they are teaching and can bring to the student "real life" case studies to show the right and wrong way to do things. I find having a lecture/presentation and then open discussion is most beneficial to my students. Diverse background with ability to adapt learning

I believe that a lack of success in academic's is usually attributed to one of two things; a lack of motivation(it's not fun enough) or a misunderstanding of the fundamentals(which brings a feeling of hopelessness). This is particularly true in foreign languages. Many times a person must rewire their brain when it comes to learning a new language.
