I am a very well organized person who can multitask and prioritize extremely well, however to me this important but yet secondary aspect of teaching is next to assisting children develop their social, communication, developmental and learning skills. Creativity in this job is a must and I feel you need to be on the same level as your students to engage them in what you want to teach them. I have over 15 years experience in the Accounting field as well as have owned several successful businesses in the IT industry of which I functioned in the daily business operations and all financial accounting duties. I also homeschooled my children from pre-school up to grade five, as well as taught Sunday school at church for several years. My teaching style is based on the belief that children perform well academically when given an opportunity to learn in their own unique way. In particular, I have worked with students with receptive-language difficulties, ADHD, and oppositional behavior. In my teaching, I have tried to implement techniques that involve repetition, visual cues, and creativity to enhance students' academic performance. I believe each student has the potential to advance when given the appropriate tools.
