I have worked both as a substitute teacher and as a certified teacher for around 15 years. I have taught a variety of different courses. I was certified to teach all sciences grades 7-12. However my certification has expired. I have taught both in the private and public sectors of education. I graduated a member of Kappa Delta Pi, as an international honor society. I graduated with a 3.9 G.P.A. I have also worked as a tutor many times within my career. I also worked with troubled teens as a therapeutic foster parent. I have always been a quick learner when it comes to mathematics. It is something that comes almost natural to me. With that said, I understand that this is not the case for everyone. I feel that a good majority of people hate math because they don't understand math, and because they don't understand math right away, they don't try to understand it. I had a wise professor once tell me, "Math isn't difficult; there is no such thing as difficult math. It just seems difficult because you haven't learned it yet". I think math can be easy for anyone, they just have to learn it first.
I started tutoring math when I attended Faulkner State College. I then attended the University of South Alabama where I tutored math and physics. I have tutored all levels of math and also tutored not only physics, but lab activites as well.

Coming from a family of educators, I knew from an early age that I would become a teacher myself; therefore, all the steps taken to prepare for my professional life have been to enable me to be the best teacher I can be. I received both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of South Alabama. I received classroom teaching experience at a local middle school and as a university instructor. I currently have an extremely rewarding position with the Mobile Housing Board developing, coordinating, and instructing GED preparation classes. With this program I teach GED concepts and both group and individually tutor numerous students. I take pride in the fact that 100% of the students I referred to the official GED test obtained their GED.
