I believe the greatest thing about knowledge is the ability to share it. I love to learn, but that is only the first step. The true reward comes in being able to impart that knowledge of someone else. However, each person learns differently. Whether in a classroom setting or one-on-one tutoring, it is imperative that the teacher learn how each student learns. This allows them to teach in a manner that produces the greatest results in students. I have experience in every level of student. My first degree (A.S.) was in Engineering and I worked at higher level math, including a college Teacher's Assistant in Calculus. I went on to obtain a B.S. in Education. I took the coursework for Middle and High School endorsements in 4 other subject areas. I work in Remedial Education at a local university currently.
I have always believed everyone can learn and everyone has different learning styles. Finding what works for the student is often the key to life-long success. The course involved statistics, math, physics, calculus.

I tailor my teaching style to the student. I first evaluate where the student is by building rapport, discussing the problem he/she is having, talking to the teacher, and talking to the parents. I then begin focusing on the area where the student is having difficulties. It may be that the student requires help with homework as well as review of fundamentals. I address both areas, always encouraging the student.
I have taught as a tutor in High School, and college. I also taught in the adult education system of Fairborn, Ohio. I have acted as a group home monitor for MR/DD adults. I am presently tutoring a young adult in cost control and algebra.
