I look at each student as an individual. I think it is important to determine which teaching style works for that person. I would use this information to choose the best method for each student. I think it is important to make learning fun at every age. Education should not be a chore but something to embrace. It would be one of my goals to limit fears or mental blocks that a student may have because they think they can't do it. I would focus on each students potential for success.
I have worked with children age 0 to 17 over the years. I tutored my daughters friends when she was in High School in History and some English especially literacy. My primary experience is with preschoolers but I have also been a day camp counselor for 3rd graders, a Girl scout Cadette leader and volunteered at the teen center.

Between 1983 and 1989, as a long-term substitute teacher for the ROP (in CA), I taught Computer Sciences (which included Elementary Math and Algebra)at Anderson Valley High School in Boonville CA. Working with children has always been somewhat natural to me, probably due to the fact I spent so many of my summers teaching, playing, and caring for them. I was a camp counselor for five summers and my primary duty was the classroom. I was in charge of arts and crafts and teaching lessons/themes of the week.
