I'm a rising senior in high school who has been tutoring peers/coaching the math team at my high school for three years. Both my PSAT and SAT scores are in the 99+ percentile and include perfect scores of 800 in both the Mathematics and Writing Sections of the SAT. I also received a score of 800 in SAT Math Level 2. I have thoroughly studied the SAT/PSAT and can pinpoint exactly what the tests are asking for and how to raise your scores. My comments on tutoring PSAT : I have tutored for the SAT (and related PSAT) in the past. I have taken the PSAT myself and was a National Merit Scholarship Finalist.

I have tutored a wide variety students on many subjects. I am most experienced tutoring high school students for the SAT. I worked with Let's Get Ready, a non-profit organization dedicated to preparing high school students for the SAT and their college search process. I typically tutored students for the Math section, but I am capable of tutoring for the Critical Reading and Writing sections as well. Throughout my education I have always prided myself in being an excellent student. Although this extended to all my subjects, my most passionate courses have always been in mathematics. This has been true from elementary all the way through college. Once in high school, I began tutoring students in this subject. It has always been fun for me to take a subject that makes somebody cringe into something they actually enjoy.
My favorite approach is to take it slow. I find that to teach a student a specific field of knowledge there is almost always a hindering block that cannot be seen at first glance.
