As a teacher of urban students and students who have experienced sever trauma (Hillside), I have gained a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by children today such as home environment and poverty. To help students to learn the vast amount of vocabulary included in most science curriculums I teach my students to determine word meanings by braking words down into their latin roots or “decoding”.
