I am an Indiana resident and professional since 1979; Spanish native speaker proficient in conversational, reading and writing Spanish. I volunteered in two Pan American Games (1979 and 1987) helping close the gap between English and Spanish athletes and personnel. I currently provide Spanish translation and interpreter assistance at my employer and my church on an as needed basis. I like to explain and teach as close as possible to "natural" Spanish.

After graduating with a degree in elementary education from Goshen College, I have gained many valuable experiences in the educational field. I would characterize my teaching style as relationally oriented. I want the student to know that I care about him or her. I may not articulate as much, but I want the student to see that I am giving my time to serve their needs and not my own. Loosely speaking, I am also a proponent of multiple intelligences. The creative teacher can usually identify a way to relate material and content using a methodology that connects. My teaching style is based in facts. I philosophically reject radical post-modernity which posits that truth is a moving target. The student does not have the right to tell me that 1+1 = 3 because 1+1 = 2.
