When I teach, I try my best to be open minded, and to give choices to the student, rather than follow a closed-box cookie cutter curriculum. I've found it's important to find a personal way of learning for a specific student. Variety is important, because every child learns a little differently. Some kids learn by listening, others by seeing. Some kids learn only when they're making things. Encouragement and recognition when progress is attained by the student is a great incentive.

I have worked with students of almost every age and level. My first teaching degree was a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. With that degree, I worked in a preschool, and I have substituted extensively in elementary schools and in middle and high schools for 12 years, learning to work with math systems such as Investigations and Expressions.
