My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : The early building blocks of reading are the most important. I will help young readers become confidant by sharpening their knowledge of basic reading skills as well as helping with comprehension.

I am currently a homeschooling mother of three. I have taught at the college level, reading development for pre-readers through adults, as well as having one on one tutoring experience. I am passionate about education and helping children not only succeed but build skills necessary to accomplish their personal goals. I understand that students can often feel lost or overwhelmed by the information they are trying to learn. I help alleviate their stress by helping them develop learning skills that can be brought to nearly every subject. I am relaxed enough that they feel safe to ask the questions they might not in class, but also expect each student to bring their very best effort to each session. I am able to explain the material that is being taugh in many ways and try to find a fun way for students to learn.
I have been a teacher for 4 years in the elementary setting. Prior to teaching I tutored students from kindergarten through 8th grade. I specialized in math and reading while in college and obtained a minor in both areas. I have taught 1st grade for two years now and will be starting my third year teaching this grade level.
