I had never thought myself a teacher until I began my Masters in English. As part of program, graduate students could teach, and in doing so, the university would pay tuition and a minor stipend. From day one I was hooked. For me, connection with students is the thing. I want them to understand, to excel. The trick is finding the right one that the student will understand. Sometimes it takes a few tries before the student "gets it." I never give up on a student.
