I have worked with kids ages 4 - 18 in my relatives family owned childcare facility for 8 years assisting children in anything from reading comprehension to paper planning strategies, written piece construction, editing, mentoring and advising. I have traveled to the Dominican Republic with the Orphanage Outreach program to teach local children literacy , american customs , art and speech. I have to first find the learning style of the student. As a teacher, I find that students have diverse ways of learning and that I must adapt my teaching style to their needs. For instance, I have some students who are auditory learners and sometimes retain information more if information is read orally to them.
