Helping Others To Accomplish Their Goals

I have worked with various needy students who have been classified as learning disabled, or those who know they are in need for assistance. My experiences vary, as I worked with older children in filling out applications for jobs and to prepare for jobs. I also, have worked with many adults on writing papers for college preparation or with helping their children on writing tasks. I have worked with young children on phonics and reading readiness.
My style is what works for the person I am working with. I am opened to sharing my ideas, but listening to each individual and what works for them.

I hold a BA in Anthropology/Environmental Studies from Bryn Mawr College. I succeeded in Calculus level math and high level Economics courses. Since graduating, I have taken additional college courses in history and government. I have accumulated about 3 years of diverse teaching experiences. I recently spent 6 months as an interpretive Park Ranger at Mount Rushmore National Memorial. While in college, I worked at a community center tutoring elementary school children in math and reading after school. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a substitute teacher for the last 7 years at Groesbeck ISD working mainly with the high school area, and some at the middle school. I also teach an adult student at a local plant working on his GED. I am the primary instructor there. I write for several online freelance article sites and am paid to do that as well. I have passed my EC-12 Special Education test and also my Generalist 4-8 and am considered Highly Qualified in those 2 areas. I have to apply for my probationary certificate and lack the student internship area to complete my certification. I would do that upon getting a full-time teaching position. I have also taught an ESL class at the local library.
