My teaching style is not memorization but rather practice. The best method that I found for teaching math based subjects is step by step work throughs for each problem. By taking the time to step through each math problem, the student learns the theory (Algebra, geometry, etc) as well as the solution. Just solving the problem doesn't teach them as much as understanding HOW to get the solution

A Little Bit About Me...

I have noticed a couple things in my years tutoring people in math. I have noticed that many people have trouble with the fundamental concepts of fractions, decimals, order of operations, and adding/subtracting positive and negative numbers. If a student does not have these concepts together much of the 'higher level' mathematics can seem a blur and highly confusing. I have also noticed that students like real world or relevant examples when learning a new math concept. I like to find out what my student is into and tailor problems to things that affect their every day life. Practical real world examples can significantly increase a students retainment of concepts. This particular position interests me because I struggled with math through middle school and understand the frustration it can create for a student. Mathematics is now my strongest subject and I chose the profession of accounting to utilize those strengths.
