In college I tutored at one of the high schools while monitoring study hall three days a week. After graduation I joined the Peace Corp. I served in the Tonga Islands in the South Pacific. I taught farming skills and assisted nurse volunteers with health and medical needs. My professional career has centered on writing, first as a reporter/editor and then in corporate public affairs, internal communications and marketing communications.
