Mandarin Chinese major at Michigan State University. Traveled to China for study twice, each for a 3 month duration. Lived with a native Chinese speaker for 1 year in apartment where 90% of communication was done in Chinese. I received a 3.5 overall GPA in Mandarin and I received a second Study abroad diploma while studying in China. Our classes were 7 hours a day, only speaking Chinese. Our teachers did not speak English. I want to teach you in a fashion that can prepare you for these types of experiences.

Currently working as a chinese tutor. My family moved to Michigan 1 month ago from Massachusetts. In MA, I worked as a private Mandarin/Chinese tutor in Cambridge MA (2011); I taught two American student aged 11 and 13 years old. I taught them not only communication but also writing and reading in Mandarin. I also feel that an approach to the big picture of how the material fits into the everyday life situations helps.
