A Little Bit About Me...

I am firm but like to use students life experiences and hobbies to teach them subjects. Younger students I like to teach through play due to the fact that I am a firm believer that children learn through play.
I have been studying education since my high school graduation in hopes of one day being the choir director at my high school.At the moment I am a student at UTEP studying bilingual elementary education and plan to receive a masters in music education after receiving my bachelors degree. I adapt my style to whatever suits the student the best. I will work hard to help the student relate to the material in a personal way, so that it is meaningful to them rather than simple memorization. My goal is to help the person become an independent and critical thinker; skills that are not generally taught, but are crucial for their future success. I then search for a passion, and then use that passion to teach any other subjects they may be deficient in. Each student requires a different approach at different times. Sometimes a documentary will be the best way to convey an idea or find something that may excite them.
