I was in the Teacher Apprenticeship program from 2003-2004 at my high school, where I taught and tutored two classes of 8th grade students for my mentor teacher. In college, I proofread many papers for friends and did extensive legal research and writing, which continuously improved my writing ability. My strongest suit in my teaching style is probably the many ways that I would approach teaching a certain principle. If the student does not understand one way to approach a problem, I try to best to help them understand and learn another way. I feel like since everyone learns differently, a tutor should approach a problem from as many angles as possible. My teaching style is also very patient. I suppose the saying "give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man how to fish, feed him for a lifetime" would apply to my style. I try to make sure the student understands the principles behind the type of problem and not just how to do the one problem.
