I have just recently finished a Masters program in music education at Central Michigan University. I have been teaching, tutoring, and mentoring students for 5 years. My experience ranges from after school tutoring to long term substitute positions. My specialty areas are lower brass pedagogy, Composition/arranging, and jazz. I am patient, considerate, and able to adapt to each child's way of learning to be able to help them understand what it is that they are trying to learn. I attended Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan, one of the top 2 school in teaching in Michigan. In college, I tutored Biology and Chemistry. Most of my Chemistry students still thank me today for getting them through the course and into the nursing program. I graduated with a BS in secondary education,Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I have been in North Carolina for almost 4 years and I have taught Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Science. I also enjoy Math. I am able to tutor Math students up to and including Algebra I.
I have taken several courses on the different styles of learning. I try to find out what style works best for my students and work from there.
