I have been involved in teaching chemistry and mathematics throughout my entire time as a graduate student and the last portion of my undergraduate studies. My mathematics teaching skills range from basic algebra through multivariable calculus, whereas I am experienced in teaching at all levels of general and organic chemistry.
My teaching experience is very diverse. During my appointments as a teaching assistant and tutor I have worked with students of every demographic, learning style, and education level. While working for Professor Weiss at the Pennsylvania State University as an undergraduate researcher for four years, I gained experience in scanning tunneling microscopy, self-assembled monolayers, molecular electronics, and nanotechnology generally. I independently designed and carried out experiments relating to thermodynamics, scanning tunneling microscopy, and self-assembled monolayers. I was a part of other research projects involving the same, as well as nanoparticles, molecular electronics, and surface catalysis. Also , I was an active chemistry tutor, officially and unofficially.
I believe I have a talent for taking a complex subject, and simplifying it in such a way that anyone can understand it. That is how I was able to successfully tutor many fellow students since high school. It is also how I managed to do well enough myself in science classes.

To me chemistry has always been an exciting but often misunderstood science. The average person doesn't realize how much chemistry is around them and how chemistry is a fundamenal part of nature. My love of mathematics began while I was in elementary school--I looked forward to those classes and took as many as I could from my high school, Wyoming Area.
