I am very passionate about teaching. I am a very hands-on type of teacher that really likes to get the student involved in their learning. I like to set goals for learning, but also find it important for students to set their own goals as well. I believe that all children can learn, no matter what. It is just my job as a teacher to be able to help figure out their best way to learn as well as bring those resources to that student for their success.
I graduated National-Louis University with a 3.7 GPA, and am also in the Kappa Delta Pi honors society for teaching. I have a Bachelor's degree in History and an Associate's in Process Technology. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society. I possess excellent math skills and took statistics in college. I enjoy helping others and feel I am a good fit for this position.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a non-traditional student I was more mature when I returned to finish my degree than when I had originally gone to school. As a result I graduated Suma Cum Laude and was awarded the Competitive Graduate Award from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to begin my graduate education. Subsequently, I was awarded a teaching assistantship and have taught as a TA for the last two semesters in social statistics. While finishing my MA I have also been teaching at the community college level for the last year.

With a BS in Architecture I have a strong background in math and science and I have always had a strong determination to excel in my education. Also while pursuing my degree I served as a teacher's assistant for multiple courses in my discipline. I also was a department tutor for three of my four years in college and I often worked with individuals or groups with various subjects that they were struggling with. Over the past 12 years, I have worked in both the private and public sectors of the education community. I have taught grades 7-12 in all areas of science.
