My comments on tutoring American History : Highly qualified k-8

For 20 years I worked for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, as a fifth through 7th Grade classroom teacher. I taught all of the academic subjects in various combinations, sometimes all at once to a self-contained class. The State of Tennessee recognized me as "Highly Qualified" in all subjects, from Kindergarten through 8th Grade. I served on the district's math council for 5 years, helped direct the district's science fair one year, and worked extensively in the field of arts-based curriculum development. There I taught 4th, 5th, and 7th graders. Students in my class have had vision issues, autism, aspergers, and ADD/ADHD.
