I have been a teacher for over 15 years. I enjoy tutoring students and helping them understand math. I have taught Math in Grades 6 - 12. I have recently tutored algebra, algebra II, geometry. I began teaching private piano and oboe lessons around 1970 and continued it as time permitted until the present. My teaching method is to use the principle approach. Each academic subject has foundational principles that make up that subject’s core. To master a subject, a student must understand these principles and then see them expand as the student progresses through a subject. I believe students can be taught problem-solving skills, organizational skills and character-building principles through every subject. I enjoy catering to the students learning style. I like to identify the students strong and weak points, and find ways to use what the student already has, to make his or her weak points stronger.
