I have always been an excellent student. Attended small Catholic elementary school where I was the captain of the academic team during the 4th and 5th grade. I then attended an amazing middle school, where I became Student Body President, captain of the cheerleading team, and All A's student for all 3 years. There, I received the highest achievement a student can receive for all 3 years. In high school, I played varsity volleyball for 3 years, was captain for 2, and received MANY honors and awards for my talent in the sport. I was an honors student, took AP Spanish, AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP Biology, and AP Calculus. I was an active member of the National Honors Society. I like to teach all age levels. I try to teach in a way that allows them to learn best. Every student has their own way of learning, some are more visual while others are more text driven. I feel that educators play an important role in helping students figure out how to learn best and motivate them to want to continue learning more. I am very patient and understanding, which are also key elements for a child to feel comfortable to learn.
I have always had a love for science, which prompted me to pursue a BS in biology and MS in microbiology. While doing so, I was able to acquire experience instructing biology labs for undergraduate students. After graduate school, I gained a stronger understanding of science while working in clinical and research microbiology labs.

I have taken many courses over an extended period of time. In 2002 I entered the Surgical Technology program at Jefferson Technical College; I managed a 4.00 and missed only a couple of days. During the many testing phases of the program I stayed and helped get other students through the program, I was commended on my drive and determination to help other students, all while maintaining my grade average. I pulled down some of the highest scores in the programs history. This didn't go unnoticed, as shortly after graduation I was asked by the Dean of Allied Health and Surgical Technology Program Coordinator to come back and teach. I taught all of the prerequisite core classes, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Human Growth and Development and Medical Terminology.
